Vincent Van Gogh was mostly self taught, he started painting in his late 20's, and had brief formal training. he created over 2000 artworks despite struggling with mental health. The way i built this piece was i created a slab of clay and made tear drop looking pedals and slipped and scored them onto the slab, then under glazed branches and painted other pedals onto the piece. The painting of "pink blossoming peach tree" is super interesting because it captures the beauty of spring. the vibrant colors and delicate blossoms have lots of texture and life in this painting. i think it turned out pretty well for how fast i rushed it and if i could do it over again i would take a-lot more time with it and focus more on the pedals definition and include 3D branches as-well.
